01. What are we competing on?

Anchor 1

To tackle greenwashing there are two sides to the coin. One side is to engage in corporate outreach, convincing companies to engage in more transparent marketing practices. The other side is to promote public awareness, so that consumers are generally able to identify misleading claims, disincentivizing companies to engage in greenwashing practices. Identifying who your audience is would be the first step for you to begin framing your proposal.

We divided the presentation types in the following two categories:

🌱Category 1: Campaign or Pitch Idea

  • Come up with an innovative solution to tackle greenwashing.

    • E.g., public awareness campaign

    • E.g., data-centered digital solution

    • E.g., petition for legal reforms

    • E.g., press conference

  • Find a mentor that will oversee your project.

  • Assess the project's viability and potential to scale.

  • Assess tools needed to make the project happen and create a budget plan.

  • Create timeline and deadlines to refine project proposal.

🌱Category 2: Case report or Case analysis

  • Identify a company in Taiwan that you want to delve deep into to analyze

    • E.g., TSMC, Foxconn, MediaTek, ASE, UMC

    • E.g., Formosa petrochemical, CPC Oil

    • E.g., NET, 50%, Uniqlo, Lativ, Airspace, H&M, Zara

    • E.g., Fubon, Cathay, Bank of Taiwan, CTBC, Megabank

  • Find a mentor that will oversee your project.

  • Research whether they have publicized ESG reports or information about sustainable practices published online.

  • Delve deep and identify problem areas, ambiguous points that need clarification.

  • Come up with a corporate outreach strategy, and anticipate their potential response.

  • Continue to refine communication approach and case report analyses based on their potential response.

02. What are the funding opportunities?

The winning teams will receive a grant of TWD10,000 to kick-start the project.

For teams that require more funds to expand or increase the impact of their projects, the Reformosa team will work through the additional funding options with them 1:1.

03. Eligibility requirements

Eligibility and Requirements
  • Age requirement: Participants must be aged between 16 to 27 years old, which must be proven through submitting a copy of their identification document (passport for non-Taiwanese nationals and Identification Card from Taiwanese nationals)

    • If you are a student: proof that you are currently enrolled and registered at their school.

    • If you are a young professional: no proof of employment is necessary.

  • Teams must designate one contact person (enrolled in university or above) to lead and handle competition-related communications.

  • Teams are responsible for the accuracy of their registration information; inaccuracies affecting eligibility for awards will not be grounds for appeal.

  • Teams must sign up for the competition before June 5 2024.

Workshops will take place between 7 March and 1 July 2024. Live sessions will take place once per month for the duration of the program. Each live session will be recorded and distributed to the workshop participants after it is held.

Teams typically will dedicate 1.5 to 4 hours of work per week to the Reformosa competition. We estimate that you should plan to dedicate another hour per week to completing project-planning tasks.

In your application, you will need to identify specific members of your team who can commit to attending each session. Your contact person will need to sign-off on participation to signal that they are committed to seeing the project implemented in 2024. At least one member of your team must attend each session. However, multiple members can attend sessions if they would like (there is no cap).

A mandatory Q&A session will be scheduled outside of this schedule.

04. What can I expect to learn?

Anchor 3
